Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team features Teor (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the party understands precisely where to go next after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, attacking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- However, their position as key figures in the powerful family could help the party enter places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter vowed a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to head to Timmony in quest for Casimir.
